Following development at the youth level, Yalciner was promoted to the senior Fenerbahce squad in 1958. He was widely recognized for his long-term tenure, representing the club uninterruptedly until his retirement as team captain in 1971.
Throughout his twelve years with the senior team, he was part of a golden era for the club, securing two Turkish league championships in 1959 and 1965. He also played an instrumental role on the roster that captured Fener’s first-ever Turkish Cup trophy in 1967, which was the last team title until the early 90’s. On the international stage, he represented Turkiye a total of 16 times, including EuroBasket 1959 in Istanbul, where his country ranked 12th with three wins in seven games.
Following his playing days, Yalciner transitioned into technical and administrative roles. He served as the head coach for Fenerbahçe’s squad in the early 1970s. His involvement in sports management continued through two separate terms as the team’s branch coordinator, as well as a tenure on the Technical Committee for the Turkish Federation.
