CSKA dominates Tsmoki-Minsk, Khimki defeats Zenit

After a tough loss in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague against Anadolu Efes, CSKA Moscow returned to VTB league duties and managed to ‘blow off some steam’ against Tsmoki-Minsk with a 101-67 home win.

Six players scored in double-digits for CSKA with Johannes Voigtmann leading the way with 15 points. Michael Eric logged 12 along with a game-high 21 PIR while Gabriel Lundberg, Joel Bolomboy, Daniel Hackett, Nikita Kurbanov had ten points each.

On the other side, Andrei Rahozenka scored 14 and Uladzislau Bliznyuk 11 points.

CSKA improved to 12-5 for the third spot in the standings while Tsmoki remained at the bottom with a 2-14 record.

Despite missing Alexey Shved, a strong finish earned Khimki Moscow Region the 81-78 away victory versus Zenit Saint-Petersburg on Monday.

Jordan Mickey led the way with 20 points plus nine rebounds. Errick McCollum produced 16 more points for the visitors. Alex Poythress’s 22 points fell short of the W for the VTB leaders.

The winning side improved to 8-8 dropping Zenit to 15-3.
