ABA League Day 2 Recap

Gameday 2 of ABA League tipped off with a double-overtime thriller between Partizan NIS and Buducnost VOLI which eventually belonged to the latter. Similar to the Montenegrin club, Crvena Zvezda mts advanced to 2-0 highlighting Sunday action.

Partizan NIS – Buducnost VOLI 99-101

The match was full of ups and does, and despite both teams having a significant lead at times, the final outcome was decided down the stretch and after two overtimes.

Back-to-back threes in the final seconds decided the game. Codi Miller-McIntyre hit one for Partizan but Danilo Nikolic responded right back to hand Buducnost the win.

Nikolic was having an amazing game with 21 points while adding four rebounds, two steals. He shot perfectly from the field (7-7) including two threes while he also made all five of his free throws.

Justin Cobbs banked 27 and Dragan Apic 12 points. For Partizan, Ognjen Jaramaz had 24 points in addition to Miller-McIntyre’s 15 and Eric Mika’s 12 points.

Borac Cacak – Crvena Zvezda mts 64-95

Red-hot Jordan Loyd added on a brilliant week with a game-high 21 points leading the Red-Whites to a comfortable win on the road. Langston Hall posted 14 points and seven assists.

Bryce Jones led the hosts scoring 16 points.

Mega Soccerbet – Zadar 90-87

Young guard Stefan Momirov connected seven times beyond the arc sending the Serbian side to a 2-0 start. Apart from his 23 points, Filip Petrusev punched in 18 more.

Martin Junakovic banked 22 points for the visiting side.

Mornar Bar – Cibona Zagreb 109 – 68 

Seven players scored in double figures for Mornar Bar in the blowout win over Cibona. Marko Jeremic had 14 points, Jacob Pullen added 13 points plus five assists and Suad Sehovic scored 13.

Filip Bundovic dropped a game-high 22 points for Cibona.

Split – FMP 86 – 71 

Marko Lukovic scored 20 points and Blaz Mecisek added 17 points as Split beat FMP in the match that concluded the round in ABA League. Okben Ulubay and Stefan Djordjevic had 13 points apiece for FMP.

Krka Novo mesto – Igokea 69-70

Igokea managed to come out on top in the close finish against Krka, led by Nikola Jovanovic with 19 points while Stefan Pot helped out with 12.

For Krka, Jure Skific scored 14 in addition to Rok Stipcevic’s 12 points.
