Yogi Ferrell’s game-winner pushes Cedevita past Partizan

Yogi Ferrell scored the last five points of Cedevita Olimpija, including the winning jumper, as his team defeated Partizan Belgrade 81 – 79 at home in one of the biggest ABA League clashes of the season. The win marked a regular-season sweep for Cedevita over Partizan.

Ferrell hit a 3-pointer for the 79 – 77 with 1:03 to play to cap a 10-0 run for Cedevita and on the other end, Kevin Punter tied the game for Partizan. In the next offense, Ferrell beat Yam Madar’s defense and hit the mid-range jump shot that put the Slovenian side up by two.

This wasn’t the end of Ferrell’s heroics. Partizan’s pressure after the inbounds pass by Cedevita led to a steal and Aleksa Avramovic ran the transition to score the potential game-tying basket only for Ferrell to snatch the ball as the match reached its end.

Thanks to this win, Cedevita improved to 15 – 7 and retained its place as third in the standings. Ferrell finished with 13 points while Jaka Blazic led the winning squad overall with 25 points. Zoran Dragic had 14 points plus six rebounds while Alen Omic scored 13.

Avramovic finished with 21 points, Punter dropped 18 points and Zach LeDay posted 13 points for Partizan. Zeljko Obradovic’s team continues holding the first seed with a 19 – 4 record and two games less than second-placed Crvena Zvezda.
