Nemanja Nedovic sets season-high at 24 points in lopsided win

After lifting Crvena Zvezda mts over LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne in Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season Round 8, Nemanja Nedovic recorded a new personal best for the 2022-23 campaign with 24 points Saturday.

Nedovic, 31, paved the way in the 92-53 victory against Cibona in AdmiralBet ABA League Regular Season Round 7. He connected 6/7 field goals, including five triples. The experienced guard also dished out two assists en route to a game-high efficiency rating of 30.

Adding to one-way traffic, Filip Petrusev finished with 14 points, nine rebounds, four assists, and one block. Nikola Ivanovic followed with ten points, six assists, three rebounds, and two steals.

Besides the game, Crvena Zvezda announced the decision to part ways with three members of the coaching staff, including former player Marko Simonovic. Miodrag Dinic and Branko Jorovic were released as well. All three were appointed as assistants to recently-departing head coach Vlada Jovanovic last offseason.

The club then confirmed former Spanish national team player Carles Marco as the new addition to Dusko Ivanovic’s coaching staff. The other replacements are expected to be announced within the next few days.

New play-caller Dusko Ivanovic guided his side to a 5-1 ABA record. Against Cibona, John Holland sat out alongside Stefan Markovic, Miroslav Raduljica, and Dalibor Ilic.

Up next is the next EuroLeague double-game week, specifically taking on Alba Berlin in Germany Tuesday and welcoming Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv in Belgrade Thursday.

More Saturday ABA action in Buducnost VOLI outlasting Zadar, 104-103, in a high-scoring affair and Cedevita Olimpija beat Igokea m:tel, 85-74.

Highlighting Friday’s schedule, FMP Meridian defeated MZT Skopje Aerodrom, 101-97, and went up to 6-1. Also, SC Derby took down Borac Mozzart, 93-84.

Undefeated Partizan Mozzart Bet will host Split with the chance for a 7-0 start Sunday. In addition, Mornar-Barsko zlato will welcome Mega MIS.
