Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade took the last spot in the ABA Supercup semifinals after an 86-60 win against Petrol Olimpija.

Despite the final score, Olimpija’s squad was the one to start off the game better. They won the first quarter 28-20 eventually going on the break with a small 42-40 lead.

The second half, however, was a completely different story. Zvezda came back from the locker room set on crushing the opponent, and they did. They allowed Olimpija only 18 points for the rest of the game while banking 46 themselves leaving no hope for the opposing team and securing the game.

Maik Zirbes led the victors with 14 points in addition to Billy Baron’s 12. Stratos Perperoglou and Joe Ragland helped with 11 points each.

On the other side, Blaz Mesicek scored 15 while Mirza Begic and Aleksandar Lazic added ten points each.

Zvezda’s opponent in the semifinals will be Cedevita which faced some ups and downs but ultimately prevailed over Zadar 85-77 with a strong fourth quarter, earlier the same day.

James Bell the winner’s effort with game-high 23 points while Augusto Lima and Andrija Stipanovic helped with 14 each. On the other side, Malcolm Grant scored 21 points.

The first semifinal pair was decided yesterday as Partizan NIS beat Mornar Bar 91-77 while Buducnost VOLI recorded a 90-86 comeback win against Igokea.
