The goal of Spanish ACB for the 2020-21 campaign would be to start in October if the health and safety status allows it but also add two more clubs to the mix, increasing the lineup to 20, according to David Sanchez-Canete.

Delteco GBC would be the 19th squad while Valladolid is the main candidate for the 20th although Alicante and Coruna have also been considered.

Valladolid holds the 18-6 record at the top of Spain’s second division while Felteco is behind with the same record. Coruna and Alicante follow with 16-8.

The league recently decided to – if the situation allows it – finish the current season with a 12-team tournament which would have to be completed by no later than July 31. At that time, it also confirmed that no teams will be relegated.
