Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez announced at a press conference that they have agreed with the Higher Sports Councils and the Ministry of Health to, if everything goes well, authorize the resumption of sports starting from June 8.

“With the endorsement of the CSD, the Government of Spain and the Ministry of Health have given the green light for the professional soccer league to be held again from the week of June 8. The week of June 8 in which, if all goes well, phase 3 will begin in much of Spain, the resumption of major sports and professional competitions will be authorized,” Sanchez said, per KIA en Zona.

This means that the Spanish League, which will decide about the 2019-20 season on May 31, would be able to resume. The plan has been to finish the season by July 31 with a 12-team tournament in a single venue.
