Murcia stuns Barcelona to complete day of upsets in Spain

UCAM Murcia defeated Barcelona 82 – 73 behind a late 12-0 run to close a memorable Day 10 in the Spanish League. The Blaugrana became the second ACB EuroLeague powerhouse to lose on the same day after Real Madrid fell to Unicaja Malaga.

Dylan Ennis notched game-highs 19 points and five assists to lead Murcia. Simon Birgander added 15 points plus eight rebounds and Rodions Kurucs had 12 points plus seven boards. The Latvian forward also scored six straight points that put the hosts up 76 – 72 with 1:09 to play.

Birgander then added four unanswered points of his own to pretty much secure the win for Murcia.

Willy Hernangomez dropped 15 points for Barca that led for the vast majority of the second half and never trailed after the break until the last two minutes. Tomas Satoransky finished with 11 points plus five rebounds and Nicolas Laprovittola scored 11.

Earlier, David Kravish had 23 points and nine rebounds as Malaga handed Real its first defeat after 19 wins over all competitions. Following two straight ACB losses, Baskonia defeated fellow EuroLeague side Valencia 83 – 74 behind 18 points and seven rebounds by Chima Moneke.

In Badalona, Andres Feliz pulled off an incredible buzzer beater from the other side of the court as Joventut beat Bilbao 81 – 78
