Bayern Munich completed a comeback in the final quarter against Baskets Bonn (83-78) to take a 1-0 lead in the easyCredit BBL semifinals. After easily defeating Trier 3-0 in the quarterfinals, Pesic’s team struggled to secure the victory at home.
Oscar da Silva (13 p.), Andreas Obst (11 points), and Xavier Rathan-Mayes (11 p.) were Bayern’s top scorers. Nenad Dimitrijevic had 10 points and 14 assists in the win. Joel Aminu exploded for 23 points in Bonn’s loss.
Bayern never looked comfortable throughout the first half (30-34). Telekom Baskets Bonn stepped up in the third quarter (50-58), pulling away before the final quarter.
In the final minutes, when all seemed lost, Bayern scored a quick 33-20 run to complete the comeback and secure the important home victory (83-78). A timely reaction to start the semi-finals with a 1-0 lead.
