Brose Baskets win the derby, lock first place

The grand derby between Brose Baskets (29-3) and Bayern Munich (25-7) overshadowed everything else this weekend of the German Championship. The team from Bamberg took a big overtime win on the road, thus locking the first place in the standings and the home court advantage in all possible playoff series.

Bradley Wanameker was fantastic for the reigning champs, scoring 29 points and grabbing 6 rebounds. For Bayern Munich, that has now fallen to the third place, Dusko Savanovic finished the game with 16 points.

In the other games, Fraport Skyliners (26-8) overpowered Alba in Berlin (21-11), to elevate in the second place of the standings, while Oldenburg’s (25-7) offense led them to victory over Ratiopharm Ulm (20-12).
