Derrick Williams, Bayern take 2-0 lead vs. Braunschweig

Although Braunschweig recovered from the early 20-point deficit (36-16) and made it a tie with six minutes (69-69) to go, Bayern made a 14-3 run and eventually recorded an 84-74 road win in the German League quarterfinals.

Bayern is now ahead 2-0 in the best-of-five series and will have a chance to seal the deal in Game 3 on Sunday (26/5) in front of their home crowd.

Derrick Williams led the winning side with 17 points and eight boards while Vladimir Lucic added 15 and Petteri Koponen 13 points.

For Braunschweig, Christian Sengfelder had a great night with game-high 28 points and seven boards followed by Thomas Klepeisz’ 18 and Shaquille Hines’ 12 points and nine boards.
