Bayern, Alba win semifinals Game 1 vs. Vechta, Oldenburg

The German League semifinals have started and Alba Berlin as well as Bayern Munich grabbed the Game 1 wins over the respective opponents.

EWE Baskets Oldenburg and Alba were fairly balanced but the latter made a crucial 8-0 run in the fourth quarter eventually recording a 100-93 road win.

Peyton Siva nailed 26 points for the victors followed by Martin Hermannsson and Landry Nnoko’s 15 points each. On the other side, Will Cummings and Rasid Mahalbasic scored 21 points each.

Rasta Vechta managed to bounce back from a 16-point deficit (62-46) but Bayern stopped them in their track with a 10-0 run and recorded a 98-88 home win.

Vladimir Lucic was on fire for the winning team banking 24 points on 8-10 shooting while Devin Booker added 21 points missing just one shot along the way. The latter also grabbed nine boards.

For Vechta, Seth Hinrichs scored 21 points followed by Austin Hollins’ 17 and T. J. Bray’s 14 points.

The semifinals are played in a best-of-five format and Game 2 on June 4 (Vechta-Bayern) and June 5 (Alba-Oldenburg) as the home court advantage switches sides.
