Riga, Latvia – Dennis Schroder was named Most Valuable Player of EuroBasket 2025.
Receiving the Tissot MVP trophy from Rudy Fernandez, the Braunschweig native became the sixth player to stand out as the Most Valuable Player in both the World Cup and EuroBasket, following Pau Gasol, Dirk Nowitzki, Toni Kukoc, Drazen Petrovic, Drazen Dalipagic, and Sergei Belov. He was previously named MVP in the championship run of the FIBA World Cup 2023.
In his latest FIBA triumph stretching to a perfect run across nine team showings in Tampere and Riga, the captain of the senior national team of Germany tallied 20.3 points, 7.2 assists, 3.1 rebounds, 0.8 steals, and 0.1 blocks per game, including a 16-point, 12-assist double-double in the Final opposite Turkiye in Xiaomi Arena on Sunday.
In the All-Tournament Team, featuring exclusively NBA players, the 31-year-old combo guard was joined by his international teammate Franz Wagner, Greece’s Giannis Antetokounmpo, Turkiye’s Alperen Sengun, and Slovenia’s Luka Doncic.
Starting from Limassol, Tampere, Katowice, and Riga, the tournament progressed through pool play to focus on the knockout stage in the Latvian capital, with 76 games played since August 27 to shape the final standings.
