Rice confirmed his desire to play for Montenegro in the upcoming Eurobasket 2017 by speaking to the national team coach Bogdan Tanjevic and also to the team captain Bojan Dubljevic.
In both cases the contact was made by phone and Tanjevic got the confirmation by the player about his participation in the tournament.
The Basketball Federation of Montenegro also denied setting any kind of ultimatum to Rice. This is an answer to reports about Rice being in danger of losing his Montenegrin passport if he denied playing for the team in the upcoming Eurobasket.
