Group B Recap: Mornar claims historic Top 16 qualification

Mornar Bar sealed its historic first qualification for the 7DAYS EuroCup Top 16 by defeating Buducnost VOLI Podgorica 78-84 on the road on Wednesday. Both teams finished the regular season with 5-5 records in Group B, and since it won both of their games, Mornar took in third place and Buducnost ended in the fourth.

Jacob Pullen led the winners with 20 points, Marko Jeremic added 13, while Uros Lukovic had 12 points.

Nikola Ivanovic scored 17 for Buducnost, followed by Fedor Zugic with 14 points and Melvin Ejim with 10 points.

Ulm finished its EuroCup journey for this season with a 94-90 victory against Unicaja Malaga, but despite this result, after Mornar’s win they have been eliminated from the Top 16 round.

Dylann Osetkowski paced the German team into this victory with 25 points, while Troy Caupain tapped 20 points.

Unicaja’s Francis Alonso paced the hosts with 22 points. Adam Waczynski and Axel Bouteille followed with 13 and 12 points respectively and Volodomyr Gerun posted 10 points.

Earlier this week, Boulogne defeated Brescia powered by a double-double performance by Assem Marei.
