After the short NBA stint with the Denver Nuggets on a two-way contract in the 2020-21 season, Greg Whittington has returned to Europe and his chosen destination is Lokomotiv Kuban.

“We got a versatile forward – he is dangerous from the perimeter and acts very well in the paint. He is an aggressive, powerful player. He has a quick first step, makes good use of his athletic ability, loves dynamic basketball with a quick transition from defense to attack, which meets our standards,” coach Evgeny Pashutin said.

Per Lokomotiv Kuban:

Greg Whittington (203 cm, 98 kg) was born on February 7, 1993 in Columbia, Maryland.

During his student years he played for Georgetown University.

He spent the 2015/16 season in the D-League as part of Sioux Falls Skyforce, with which he won the championship. In 2016 he moved to Australia and played for Sydney Kings, in March 2017 he returned to Sioux Falls Skyforce. The next season he started in Japan at Levanga Hokkaido and in 2018/19 he played in Israel for Hapoel Galil Gilboa. In 2019 Whittington moved to Turkey, where he spent a season at Galatasaray. In EuroCup he averaged 12.5 points and 6.4 rebounds per game.

Greg’s last club was the Denver Nuggets in the NBA.
