Hamburg Towers decided to bring in some reinforcements to the roster and Ray McCallum was the answer with a deal until the end of the season.

Per EuroCup Basketball:

Hamburg Towers bolstered its backcourt by signing veteran guard Ray McCallum for the remainder of the season. McCallum (1.91 meters, 30 years) brings two seasons on experience in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, though he has yet to compete in the 7DAYS EuroCup. He played for Hapoel Jerusalem in the Israeli League last season and averaged 13.5 points and 2 assists in eight games.

McCallum began his professional career with Sacramento and Memphis in the NBA. He also played for Reno, Austin, Grand Raids and Los Angeles in the D-League. McCallum made his EuroLeague debut with Unicaja Malaga in 2017 and played for Darussafaka Istanbul the following season. He averaged 9.3 points and 3.2 assists over 46 EuroLeague games in those two seasons. McCallum has since played for Breogan in Spain and Shanghai in China.

“I am very happy to be here. I met Pedro and Marvin yesterday and had great conversations with both of them,” McCallum said. “I am now in my ninth year as a professional, my fifth season overseas – I would like to use the many experiences and bring them here to Hamburg. The team is relatively young, so as a veteran I have to be able to take on responsibility. I saw the game against Partizan last week. I was fascinated how the Towers never gave up. Pedro’s style of play builds on a lot of energy and commitment and I think that’s fine with me.”
