Gran Canaria extends Andrew Albicy through 2025

Gran Canaria extended its commitment to playmaker Andrew Albicy by renewing his current contract for two more seasons with an option for a third one. The Spanish club finalized the move two days after hiring Jaka Lakovic as its head coach for the next two seasons.

In 28 Endesa League games played in the 2021-22 season, the French point guard has averaged 5.7 points, 4.3 assists and 1 steal, and his numbers rose to 6.8 points, 6 .2 assists on average across 15 EuroCup games. Gran Canaria reached the quarterfinals in both competitions this past season.

Albicy was the EuroCup’s steals leader in 2021-22 with 1.8 per game and ranked sixth in assists. He has already played in six EuroCup seasons, totaling 82 games with a competition average of 8.7 points, 5.3 assists, and 1.4 steals.
