Chinanu Onuaku grabs MVP hounors

Chinanu Onuaku has picked up his first-ever MVP of the Round accolade after shining in Hapoel Vegan Friendly Tel Aviv’s 60-78 win at Dolomiti Energia Trento, which clinched the team’s spot in the playoffs.

The Hapoel center tallied 22 points, having made all 8 of his shots from two-point range and gone 6-of-8 from the free-throw line. Onuaku also recorded 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals and 6 fouls drawn. His PIR of 35 was the highest of all players on winning teams in Round 13 of the 7DAYS EuroCup. This marks the sixth time this season that a Hapoel player has been MVP of the Round.

Yoeli Childs of Veolia Towers Hamburg had this round’s highest PIR, 36, but it came in a 103-105 home loss against Promitheas Patras. Childs posted 26 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals, in addition to drawing 6 fouls. Bruno Caboclo of ratiopharm Ulm had a PIR of 34. He scored 33 points after going 14-of-17 on two-pointers. Caboclo grabbed 8 rebounds, too.

Rounding out the list of top performers in Round 13 are Sam Dekker of the London Lions, Aleksander Balcerowski of Gran Canaria and Josh Adams of Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana, each of whom had a performance index rating of 27.
