Round 8 of the BKT Eurocup delivered more than a few surprises on the opening day.
Hapoel Jerusalem continues its upward trajectory in the competition, while Bahcehsehir falls in Poland, and we have a tie at the top of Group A.
Tuesday kicked off with Neptunas and Aris, with the Greeks securing a well-deserved victory on Lithuanian soil. Amine Noua led all scorers with 24 points. He was well accompanied by Mitrou-Long and Bryce Jones, who each added 17.
Hapoel Jerusalem continues its impressive run in the competition and has made it five wins in a row to improve to 6-2. The Israeli side defeated Cluj-Napoca on the road, with Anthony Lamb (17) and Jared Harper (16) leading the scoring.
Buducnost cruised past Ulm (99-91), and Bahcehsehir, the previous leader of Group A, fell to Slask in Poland 99-91, dropping to 6-2. Kirkwood (21) overshadowed Homesley (20), who established himself as the offensive leader of the Turkish team, but today wasn’t enough.
In the last game of the night, Chemnitz easily defeated Trento in Italy (94-105). A 17-34 run in the second quarter was enough for the visitors’ victory.
