EuroCup is expected to expand to 32 teams, according to Eurohoops sources, marking one of the biggest structural changes in the competition’s recent history.
Sources indicate that 42 clubs submitted letters of interest to participate in the tournament, while more than 20 teams have already signed a new 3+2-year agreement guaranteeing their place in the competition.
The remaining spots are expected to be filled through a combination of wild cards and qualification via domestic leagues.
Among the clubs linked with participation in the expanded format are Besiktas, Aris, PAOK, Tenerife and Strasbourg.
The new structure is expected to feature four groups of eight teams during the regular season.
According to current plans, the competition format would include 14 regular-season games, followed by a six-game Top 16 stage before the playoffs, again by four groups of four teams.
The postseason itself is projected to include best-of-three series in the quarterfinals, semifinals and finals.
