Hapoel Midtown Jerusalem has solidified its future backcourt by signing 23-year-old Israeli national team guard Ethan Burg to a long-term contract extending through the 2028/29 season, as announced on Monday.

The 1.91-meter guard joins the BKT EuroCup club following a stint at Tennessee throughout the 2025/26 NCAA season, where he averaged 2.5 points and 1.1 assists per game in 31 appearances. A lifelong supporter of the club, Burg previously made his professional debut with Bnei Ofek Dist Herzliya.

“I am excited and proud to join Hapoel Jerusalem, the club I have supported for as long as I can remember,” he said. “I grew up in the stands at the Arena, and the opportunity to wear the red jersey and play for Hapoel’s amazing fans is a very meaningful and emotional full-circle moment for me.”

“Despite offers from other teams, my heart chose Hapoel,” Burg added. “I want to thank everyone who was part of making this happen and for believing in me. I can’t wait to get started and give everything I have on the court. I’m sure we’ll achieve great things together. Yalla Hapoel!”

Meanwhile, reigning EuroCup champion JL Bourg is actively revamping their roster for the 2026/27 campaign, starting with two major signings. The French club secured 31-year-old power forward/center Lionel Gaudoux, the former Elan Chalon captain, on a two-year contract, as announced on Sunday.

On Saturday, Bourg confirmed the addition of 25-year-old point guard Tyson Walker, who signed a one-year deal. The explosive Michigan State alumnus and former G League standout is moving from Melbourne United to Europe.
