The reigning BKT EuroCup champions, JL Bourg, have finalized their backcourt for the upcoming 2026-27 campaign across continental and domestic competitions by inking American guard Trey Woodbury to a one-year contract. Following a series of early offseason moves, this deal was announced on Sunday.
The 26-year-old, 1.92-meter playmaker arrives after a season with Romanian champions U-BT Cluj-Napoca, where he continued developing into an efficient outside shooter, while upping his total of EuroCup appearances to 32.
The newcomer brings extensive international experience to France, having previously played for Aris Midea in Greece and Brose Bamberg in Germany, following an impressive collegiate career split between UNLV and Utah Valley. Beyond his scoring ability, he is widely recognized as a premier perimeter defender capable of neutralizing an opponent’s primary scoring threat. According to team management, his physical density and tactical versatility will allow him to seamlessly share court time with multiple guard combinations.

Fellow EuroCup contender Buducnost VOLI has secured critical roster continuity by re-signing experienced French big Jerry Boutsiele for another season on Sunday. The 33-year-old, 2.08-meter-tall big anchored the interior defense during his debut campaign, averaging 6.6 points on 58.1% shooting and 4.3 rebounds across 19 EuroCup appearances, while also helping the club secure a domestic league and cup double.
The Podgorica outfit previously extended the contract of head coach Andrej Zakelj for two more years on Saturday. Since taking over the bench in late 2023, the Slovenian tactician has compiled a 27-20 record at the continental level.
