Besiktas Gain has struck an agreement to add veteran Turkish international guard/forward Furkan Korkmaz to its roster for the upcoming 2026-27 season, as confirmed by Eurohoops sources and first reported by Caglar Torun.
The 2.01-meter swingman is set to join the team based in Istanbul following his latest professional chapter in the Basketball Champions League Season X, powered by Ameresco SUNEL, and Turkiye Sigorta Basketbol Super Ligi with Tofas.
Korkmaz brings extensive top-tier experience to his new club, highlighted by a prominent seven-year tenure in the NBA as a perimeter threat off the bench for the Philadelphia 76ers, where he once scored a career-high 34 points in a single game.

This blockbuster signing combines with a pivotal moment for Besiktas, with an unclear continental assignment for the next season, between staying in the BKT EuroCup or a potential promotion to the elite EuroLeague. Domestically, their 2025-26 BSL campaign has reached the absolute peak, with the team coached by Dusan Alimpijevic booking a spot in the championship series of the Playoffs 2026. Game 1 against rival Fenerbahce Beko is scheduled to take place at Istanbul’s Ulker Sports Arena this coming Saturday.
During his journey with Tofas, Korkmaz re-entered the Basketball Champions League nine years after being named its Best Young Player back in 2017 with Banvit. He contributed a solid 7.5 points per game over 11 appearances for the Bursa-based squad.
The Istanbul native, who originally blossomed in the youth ranks of Anadolu Efes, also carries an immense international pedigree, having recently reinforced the senior national team of Turkiye to a silver medal finish at the EuroBasket 2025.
