According to a recent report from Italian outlet La Prealpina, management has finalized an agreement with former NBA executive Bryan Colangelo, while also moving toward legendary strategist Mike D’Antoni to join the capital city organization’s Board of Directors.
Confirming rumors, the former Phoenix Suns, Toronto Raptors, and Philadelphia 76ers general manager would step into a key advisory role for the ownership group. In this capacity, he is slated to represent the franchise directly at official meetings. The 61-year-old executive currently holds a minority stake in Italian football club Cagliari alongside his longtime associate Edoardo Bulgheroni and carries a decorated pedigree.
Simultaneously, Roma is reportedly bolstering its administrative framework by adding D’Antoni to its governing body. The tactical mastermind, who was recently inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, holds deep roots in national hoops dating back to his historic career with Olimpia Milano. His presence on the panel signals the outfit’s high-level international ambitions.
These administrative milestones coincide with major roster developments, highlighted by the recent presentation of star guard Nico Mannion, who officially signed after motivational conversations with Slovenian superstar Luka Doncic. Guided by head coach Alessandro Magro and with Sergio Scariolo on board as the Special Advisor for Basketball Strategy, the squad is rapidly transforming into a formidable European force.
