According to the announcement the choice was made by the clubs and as a result Umana Venezia (2nd), Sidigas Avellino (3rd) and Banco di Sardegna Sassari (6th) will play in the Basketball Champions League, while Dolomiti Energia Trentino which finished fourth in the regular season and Grissin Bon Reggio Emilia which was sixth, will play in the Eurocup.
In the following days the team which will represent Italy in the qualification round of the Basketball Champions League will be also announced.
