Olimpia Milano in quarantine

Olimpia Milano was placed in quarantine right after Real Madrid announced that one of its players, later revealed to be forward Trey Thompkins, was tested positive for coronavirus. The “Red Shoes” faced Real Madrid at home behind closed doors on March 3rd.

Milano says that the club is taking all appropriate measures to prepare for any procedure necessary. The area of Lombardy, where Milan is located, in northern Italy has been one of the most infected regions in the country. As of Thursday (12/3) evening, the death toll climbed to 1,016 after 189 people lost their lives in the last 24 hours. The total number of cases has risen to 15,113.

Per Milano:

Following the press release of the F.C. Real Madrid on one of its players being positive for COVID-19, Olimpia Milano has suspended all competitive activities until further notice. The club is taking steps to prepare all necessary procedures. The team is to be considered in quarantine.
