Two promising 23-year-old players in Stefan Peno and Tamir Blatt both signed three-year deals with Alba Berlin but will spend the upcoming season with on a loan to Rasta Vechta and Hapoel Jerusalem respectively.

Per Alba Berlin:

Stefan Peno’s contract with ALBA BERLIN was extended by three years. In the coming season, the 23-year-old will be loaned to Rasta Vechta. The Serbian point guard came to Berlin three years ago and quickly established a permanent position in the ALBA rotation. In February 2019, he suffered a serious knee injury. After more than a year of rehabilitation, he celebrated his comeback on the basketball floor in June at the BBL final tournament in Munich.

ALBA sporting director Himar Ojeda: “Stefan Peno came to us as a young player and has developed very well. He was very unlucky with his injury, but at the final tournament he showed that he is ready to play again. We have extended his contract for three years because we have great confidence in Stefan as a player and a person. In order to get completely back in shape, it is now important that he has a lot of playing time and a constant role. In Vechta he finds very good conditions for this and a coach who shares our ideas in player development. Tamir Blatt is a very promising player who we have been watching for a long time. He fits very well into our game philosophy. We believe that it is best for his development to have another year in his familiar environment for another year and then take the next step at ALBA. ”
