Real Madrid will not sign a replacement for Facundo Campazzo

Real Madrid will not add a player after parting ways with Facundo Campazzo, per Eurohoops sources. The Argentine point guard is heading to the Denver Nuggets, but the Whites despite rumors regarding a potential replacement are determined to at least initially moving forward in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and ACB with the current roster.

The financial return stemming from the Campazzo move will not be used to replace the exiting star nor to bring in a backup center, a persisting rumor in recent months. However, the plan can change in the event of an injury setback generating the need for an addition.

Restrictions of the coronavirus pandemic push Madrid to control expenses. An evaluation of the remaining Pablo Laso players striving for success will be the immediate reaction. Rushing in a direct replacement for Campazzo could have proven an unnecessary risk, especially considering the extent of his contribution.

The NBA-bound star was the team leader, controlled the tempo of the game, and fully understood the system. No replacement could have effectively covered that gap.
