Vasilije Micic and Jalen Reynolds named Euroleague Co-MVPs of the Week

EuroLeague announced the most valuable players of Round 24 and the honors went to two players this time around – Vasilije Micic and Jalen Reynolds.

By leading their respective teams to victories, Vasilije Micic of Anadolu Efes Istanbul and Jalen Reynolds of FC Bayern Munich shared MVP of the Week honors, each with a performance index rating of 30. Micic led Efes to an 86-88 road win against FC Barcelona with 26 points on 7-for-9 two-point and 9-for-12 free throw shooting. He added 3 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals and 7 fouls drawn for a PIR of 30. Reynolds helped Bayern beat ALBA Berlin 101-95 in overtime at the Audi Dome. He paced Bayern with 24 points on 10-for-15 two-point and 4-for-4 free throw shooting, adding 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 4 steals and 4 fouls drawn to amass a PIR of 30. Mike James of CSKA Moscow had the highest PIR this week, 31, but his team lost 105-103 in double-overtime against Valencia Basket. James had a career-high 37 points, 3 rebounds, 7 assists, 4 steals and 7 fouls drawn. Nando De Colo of Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul, who had a PIR of 28, Howard Sant-Ross of Panathinaikos OPAP Athens and Johannes Voigtmann of CSKA, each with a PIR of 27, complete the top individual performances this week.

Individual highs: Luke Sikma, ALBA, 10 rebounds, 10 assists
James all scorers this week with 37 points against Valencia, the second-best scoring mark this season. Nemanja Nedovic scored 39 points for Panathinaikos against Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv in Round 16. James also leads in overall scoring at 20.8 points per night. Bojan Dubljevic pulled down 12 rebounds against CSKA, the most this week. Nikola Milutinov of CSKA leads the competition in rebounds at 8.6 boards per game. Luke Sikma of ALBA Berlin and Pierria Henry of TD Systems Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz were the only players to reach double digits in assists, dishing 10 apiece. Alexey Shved of Khimki Moscow Region keeps leading the assists table at 7.8 per night. James, Reynolds and Chris Singleton of Efes each collected 4 steals this week. Henry is the steals leader, averaging 1.9 per night. Ismael Bako of LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne had 3 blocks to lead the weekly standings. Georgios Papagiannis is the best shot-blocker in the competition at 2.0 per night. Dubljevic – 14 points, 12 rebounds – and Sikma – 10 rebounds, 10 assists – were the only players to register double-doubles. Sikma had 3 points, missing the chance to become the third player in competition history to achieve a triple-double.
