Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv has been somewhat struggling this season with a 7-11 record in Euroleague and, according to Moses Barda and Donatas Urbonas, the club has been looking for a backcourt singing. One of their targets is Khyri Thomas.

Thomas played two games with Bilbao Basket (short-term contract) in December, making his first appearance in Europe before getting sidelined with injury. He scored 23 points against Bitci Baskonia in the debut.

Prior to arriving in Europe, Thomas played in the NBA and the G League. He was drafted as the 38th overall pick in 2018  by the Philadelphia 76ers but spent the first two seasons with the Detroit Pistons.

After a G League stint with the Austin Spurs, he played for the Rockets on a 10-day contract and impressed the league with excellent performances. Thomas scored a career-high 27 points vs. the Utah Jazz in May.
