Back-to-back Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Final Four MVP in 2021 and 2022, and season MVP in 2020-21, Vasilije Micic answered multiple questions regarding Anadolu Efes going all the way in Europe’s premier club continental competition and also discussed other relating topics.

“After four years together, we really feel like a family,” he described his fit in the Istanbul outfit following two consecutive EuroLeague championships in an interview shared by Euroleague Basketball, “And we gave something to his club for the entire history of the club.”

Micic, 28, opened up about his game-winning buzzer-beater against Olympiacos in the Final Four Semifinal and when he actually realized his side won the Final opposite Real Madrid.

Other topics were his view on the talks with Ergin Ataman to join Efes in 2018 and how he evolved into a leader, playing alongside the ‘best teammate he ever had’ Shane Larkin, his coaches before Ataman, including the ‘most dedicated’ Sarunas Jasikevicius in Zalgiris, the Efes fans, and how important it was to keep the team’s core together the last few years.

“Being able to keep these players was an extremely hard job, I would say, for our management and generally the club,” he pointed out.

According to recent rumors, the Denver Nuggets, Milwaukee Bucks, and Chicago Bulls are interested to secure his services. The Oklahoma City Thunder currently control the NBA rights to the Serbian guard having acquired them from the Philadelphia 76ers in 2020. The Sixers had picked him up with the 52nd overall selection of the 2014 draft.
