FC Barcelona is interested in acquiring Crvena Zvezda forward Nikola Kalinic, according to multiple reports and as confirmed by Eurohoops sources.

Nikola Kalinic would hold talks with the Serbian club after the end of the 2021-22 season to discuss a possible extension, as reported by Djordje Matic of mozzartsport.com.

Barcelona has already initiated contact with the Serbian player and in order for the move to be completed, Crvena Zvezda will have to receive compensation, as agreed upon by the signing of his contract for the 2021-22 season.

Besides Zvezda, Valencia, which still owns Kalinic’s rights in the Spanish Liga Endesa, will also have to receive a fee if the move to Barca is completed, as per the rules and regulations of the league.

Although Barcelona’s interest in Kalinic is strong and recurring, the club will have to consider the financial impact of the move in accordance with their budget for next season.

The talks between Kalinic and Barcelona were first reported by the Home of Glory.
