Joel Bolomboy turns down Olympiacos offer; talks paused

Olympiacos Piraeus made an offer to forward/center Joel Bolomboy but the player turned it down according to Eurohoops sources. All talks between the Greek powerhouse and Bolomboy’s representatives are paused, for now.

Bolomboy is a free agent after the expiration of his contract with CSKA Moscow. The two sides have been engaged in a legal battle over the player’s salaries from the 2021-22 season, following his departure from CSKA in February due to the war in Ukraine.

CSKA first acquired Bolomboy in 2018 and the player re-signed with the Russian club in 2020. During his stay in Moscow, he won the 2019 EuroLeague championship, plus the 2019 and 2021 VTB League titles.

Olympiacos has been looking to bolster its frontline since big men Hassan Martin and Livio Jean-Charles won’t continue with the team and iconic captain Giorgos Printezis retired from basketball. The Reds are nearing a deal with forward Alec Peters.
