Real Madrid wants Pablo Laso to fully recover from the heart attack he suffered in early June and, according to reports by El Espanol, the team would be willing to ‘force’ him to take a year off. As further reported by Marca, the club has already notified Laso that he will not continue with the club next season.

Despite the fact that Laso has repeatedly assured that he is feeling good, and even though he directed a training session during the Spanish Liga Endesa Finals against Barcelona, Real does not want to take any unnecessary risk in regards to his health.

According to the reports, Real plans to keep Chus Mateo in the head coach position for next season and the decision for Laso to remain away from the action seems firm.

Laso, who has one year left on his current contract with the Spanish champions, is eligible to receive his salary in full while he remains off-court and recovering, but he does not agree with the decision and suggests that he could move to another team, as per the reports.
