Nigel Hayes-Davis has joined Fenerbahce Beko on a one-year contract, the team announced Friday confirming Eurohoops’ report last week.

The busy summer continues for the Istanbul outfit. Replenishing the squad, Samet Geyik, Tonye Jekiri, Johnathan Motley, and Scottie Wilbekin are confirmed arrivals heading to the next editions of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and domestic competitions in Turkey. Departing from CSKA, Greek tactician Dimitris Itoudis will take over the head coaching responsibilities. The next step was confirming the addition of the former Wisconsin standout. Nemanja Bjelica expected to reunite with his former team after eight years in the NBA would deliver yet another boost.

Hayes-Davis, 27, carries the experience of three EuroLeague seasons, including the 2021-22 campaign with FC Barcelona. Tallying 4.2 points, 2.1 rebounds, 0.8 assists, 0.5 steals, and 0.1 blocks per contest painted the picture of his statistical contribution over 37 appearances, including 16 starts. The two previous EuroLeague seasons highlighted his Zalgiris run and produced the initial working relationship with Lithuanian Sarunas Jasikevicius, former boss of the Kaunas outfit and current of the Catalonia club.

Using his overseas options, Turkey was the first stop for Hayes-Davis. Back in 2018-19, he played for fellow Istanbul club Galatasaray in the 7DAYS EuroCup and Turkey’s BSL. Earlier in his career and despite going undrafted in 2017, he logged nine appearances in the NBA via brief stints at the Sacramento Kings, Toronto Raptors, and Los Angeles Lakers. Additional early professional experience stems from G League sides, the Westchester Knicks and Raptors 905.
