Confirming recent rumors, Alex Len completed his move to Kosner Baskonia on Monday.
The Ukrainian big joins the Vitoria-Gasteiz outfit on a deal stretching until 2028, bolstering a frontline that previously lacked depth. Born in Antratsyt, the 2.13-meter center infuses elite size and seasoned experience into the roster managed by head coach Paolo Galbiati.
Len launched his journey in North America with Maryland in the NCAA before entering the NBA as the fifth overall draft selection in the 2013. Over a 12-year tenure, he suited up for the Phoenix Suns, Atlanta Hawks, Sacramento Kings, Toronto Raptors, Washington Wizards, and Los Angeles Lakers racking up 704 league appearances. He returned to the Old Continent last winter to sign with Real Madrid. However, his playing time in the Spanish capital remained limited behind Walter Tavares and Usman Garuba, yielding averages of 3.0 points and 2.0 rebounds per game across 23 EuroLeague fixtures before an injury sidelined him for the 2026 EuroLeague Final Four Athens, presented by Etihad.

In his new home, the veteran center is set to embrace a far more prominent role. The Basque squad desperately required reinforcements in the paint, where Kenneth Faried was operating as the lone natural option at the five spot. The addition of the physical Ukrainian prevents the coaching staff from resorting to emergency adjustments, such as shifting versatile forwards Tadas Sedekerskis or Rodions Kurucs into interior defensive duties.
Len will link up with his new teammates, including Markus Howard, Chris Duarte, and Chima Moneke. His integration must be swift, as Baskonia faces a challenging start to the 2026–27 EuroLeague Regular Season. They host reigning champions Olympiacos at the Fernando Buesa Arena on September 24, just three days before tipping off their domestic Liga Endesa campaign on the road against Recoletas Salud San Pablo Burgos.
