Krunoslav Simon’s Anadolu Efes jersey went up to the rafters of Sinan Erdem Dome

It was a special night in Istanbul as Anadolu Efes retired the jersey of two-time EuroLeague champion Krunoslav Simon.

In front of the packed Sinan Erdem Dome, with the big ceremony, Anadolu Efes gave the biggest honors to its’ former player, who spent five years of which he recollected talking to the Eurohoops, wearing the clubs’ jersey.

Simon attended the emotional ceremony with his family and watched his No. 44 go up to the rafters of the Sinan Erdem Dome.

It’s tough to explain what I feel. I’m shaking a little bit right now. I came to this gym last night when it was empty, and I felt a lot of emotions. I spent the best five years with this club and these people. It makes me so proud, this is one of the best days of my life, and I will never forget it,” Simon said in an emotional speech.

In the five seasons he played for Anadolu Efes, Krunoslav Simon made his mark in history by winning all the trophies that could be won in Turkey, including 2 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Championships, 2 Basketball Super League Championships, 2 Turkish Cups, and 2 Presidential Cups.

Achieving individual successes as well as club achievements, Simon also won the “Most Valuable Player” awards in the 2018 Turkey Cup and the 2019 President’s Cup.
