Dzanan Musa torches Valencia from afar

By Eurohoops team/ info@eurohoops.net

Dzanan Musa scored 22 points on 6-6 3-pointers as Real Madrid defeated Valencia 79 – 62 to capture its third straight win in the Spanish ACB League. The Blancos completed the week strong after also grabbing a road win over Fenerbahce Beko in EuroLeague.

Musa began the game with nine points on three triples in the first period to help Real get a  19 – 7 advantage and then added another triplet from downtown in the beginning of the second half o push the hosts towards getting a 48 – 34 lead halfway through the third quarter. Valencia, that had cut its deficit to 32 – 27 at halftime, didn’t manage to recover from that margin and kept trailing by double figures for the rest of the game.

Mario Hezonja added 10 points for Real Madrid. James Webb III (14 points) and Jared Harper (10 points) scored in double figures from a Valencia side that didn’t manage to be competitive enough following a EuroLeague overtime win at Partizan Belgrade Friday.

The duo of Rokas Giedraitis (25 points, five rebounds) and Matt Costello (20 points, eight rebounds) meant business as did Baskonia overall, destroying Murcia 102 – 73. On Saturday, Obradoiro delivered the upset against Barcelona.
