Bad news for Maccabi Tel Aviv, as Alex Poythress will need to undergo surgery to solve the injury issues related to his hand, according to ONE.

The American player was injured since the opening of the season, and he hasn’t been operated on yet. Now, he could probably miss the whole Regular Season and eventual EuroLeague playoffs, staying out for a lot of months.

Oded Kattash talked about his conditions before the EuroLeague game against Bayern Munich. “Alex Poythress has been playing with an injured hand since the first EuroLeague game at home. There has been a worsening of his condition. It’s difficult to know what will happen to him. He’s with us and this is what we’re focusing on”, he said.

The former Zenit Saint Petersburg player was averaging 8.2 points and 3.7 rebounds in his first EuroLeague Regular Season with the Israeli team.
