Panathinaikos Athens has been penalized for financial violations by deducting two victories from their overall score in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague season 2022/23. But it seems that’s not it.

As Mundo Deportivo reports, Panathinaikos was fined 725.000 euros, while the EuroLeague reserves the possibility of increasing it by 400,000 euros more if certain conditions are not met.

That would be the biggest fine in the history of the competition, as reported by the Catalan paper.

As it was officially announced, the Greek Club and Management Control Commission (MCC) reached a settlement agreement that will impose upon the Greek club both sports and economic sanctions, with only the sports one being revealed.

Panathinaikos had another disappointing season in the EuroLeague. Finished it with a loss to Partizan Mozzart Bet in Belgrade, and second to last in the standings with a 9-23 score with two wins deducted.
