The most recent addition to the collection of historical jerseys on display at L’Alqueria del Basket’s hall is the final jersey worn by point guard Sam Van Rossom during an official game for Valencia Basket.

The Belgian player personally delivered and placed his number 9 jersey in the showcase. This jersey holds significance as it was worn on November 22, 2022, in a Turkish Airlines EuroLeague match against Real Madrid, marking Van Rossom’s last game as a member of the Taronja team. Notably, Van Rossom was the leading scorer of that game, contributing 17 points.

After a remarkable 10-year tenure with Valencia, the experienced player recently announced his departure, expressing his intention to conclude his career in his homeland.
Throughout his time with Valencia since joining in 2013, Van Rossom achieved remarkable success, including two EuroCup titles in 2014 and 2019, as well as winning the Spanish ACB League championship in 2017. Additionally, he earned recognition for his skills and contributions, being named to the All-EuroCup Second Team in 2019.
