Olympiacos coach Giorgos Bartzokas admires Nigel Williams-Goss and orders have been given to start negotiations with the free agent whose contract with Real Madrid has expired.

Bartzokas wants to add another ball-playing guard to his roster next to Kostas Sloukas, as Williams-Goss’ status is not dependent on the Greek veteran point guard.

As Eurohoops sources confirm, Olympiakos has already contacted the American player and learned about his wishes. With Thomas Walkup’s move to domestic status, Olympiakos can take on another foreign player.

If Williams-Goss eventually joins the red-and-white side, it would be the second return of the summer after Nikola Milutinov. The current Real Madrid player, in fact, spent the 2018-19 season in Pireaus, averaging 9.2 points and 4.2 assists per game.

Afterward, he made his way to the Utah Jazz, using the NBA exit in his contract. While Nigel only played 10 games with the Jazz, he spent more time with the Salt Lake City Stars, the G-League affiliate team of the NBA franchise.

After returning to Europe with Lokomotiv Kuban, Nigel signed with Real Madrid in the summer of 2021, despite the Olympiacos’ interest. On his way to the EuroLeague championship this season, Williams-Goss averaged 7.4 points and 1.8 assists per game under Chus Mateo.
