French veteran guard Edwin Jackson has officially locked in the closing stages of his career with LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne. In an appearance on the First Team podcast, published Friday, he revealed that he has signed a two-year contract extension with the French EuroLeague club.
The 36-year-old journeyman, currently in his third stint with ASVEL, used the platform to recap an illustrious career while firmly committing to his final chapters on the court. The seasoned scorer explicitly stated that this new agreement aligns with his remaining ambitions, noting that these next two seasons will likely represent his final run before transitioning into life after sports, where he hopes to remain deeply involved in the game.
His extensive history with the organization makes the deal a natural fit for both sides. Having first joined the franchise back in 2007, he has since accumulated 165 EuroLeague appearances, with 91 of those coming in a Villeurbanne uniform.
His journey has taken him all over the global map, featuring memorable domestic and international stops, including winning titles in Montenegro with Buducnost VOLI, alongside stints across Spain with FC Barcelona, Unicaja, and Movistar Estudiantes. He also spent time in China with the Guangdong Southern Tigers and has built a storied resume with the French national team, highlighted by a bronze medal at the FIBA World Cup 2014.
Jackson’s decision to commit adds vital continuity to an evolving roster under the guidance of head coach Tony Parker, with whom he shares a close friendship. He joins a squad that currently features continuing pieces like Mbaye Ndiaye, Bodian Massa, and David Lighty, alongside new arrivals Yves Pons, Both Gach, and Nick Weiler-Babb.
