Turkish forward Erkan Yilmaz emerged as the latest addition for Anadolu Efes, as forecast in a recent report of Eurohoops.

Yilmaz, 25, penned a two-year contract to join the Istanbul outfit, the team announced Sunday.

Efes already confirmed Erdem Can as the new head coach and Turkiye Sigorta Basketbol Super Ligi season MVP Tyrique Jones as a new player. The remaining part of the Eurohoops report was Yilmaz.

Rebuilding the squad ahead of the 2023-24 edition of Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and domestic competitions, Efes also completed the signing of longtime Darussafaka Lassa floor general Dogus Ozdemiroglu. Rodrigue Beaubois and Elijah Bryant both inked contract extensions.

The Turkish small forward shaping the most recent move, is coming off a solid campaign with 12.7 points, 4.4 assists, 3.9 rebounds, 1.2 steals, and 0.7 blocks per contest over 59 appearances between the 7DAYS EuroCup and Turkiye’s BSL.

Valencia releases Shannon Evans

Soon to be announced as a remaining team in the EuroLeague field, Valencia announced the decision to opt out of the contract with Shannon Evans. The 28-year-old point guard averaged 6.4 points, 2.2 assists, and 1.3 rebounds per game over 30 appearances since joining the Oranges in January.

Per the press release: “Valencia Basket has executed the existing clause in the contract of the American point guard with Guinean passport Shannon Evans to terminate the commitment that the Club had signed with this player for the season 2023-24, so Evans is no longer linked to the taronja entity.”
