Valencia announced the signing of Stefan Jovic

Serbian point guard Stefan Jovic returns to the EuroLeague by leaving Zaragoza and signing with Valencia as the club officially announced.

Per the press release: Valencia Basket signs the Serbian international point guard Stefan Jovic (1.98m, Nis, 11/03/1990, 32 years old), from Casademont Zaragoza, into its men’s team for the next two seasons, until June 30, 2025.

The new Taronja player has signed his contract after successfully completing the medical and physical examination, as well as the cardiological and stress tests at the IMSKE Hospital.

And later he joined the rest of his teammates to carry out his first practice as a Valencia Basket player this evening.

Jovic comes from being the starting point guard of the Serbian national team that won the silver medal in the World Cup, being one of the most outstanding players of the Plavi team with a card of 5.9 points, 2 rebounds and 5.6 assists for 10 rating credits playing the eight World Cup games as starter.

After this event held in the Philippines, Japan and Indonesia, the new Taronja point guard is the fourth best player in total assists in the history of the World Cup with 103 assists distributed in this tournament. This recent silver medal obtained by Jovic joins three others he previously achieved with the Serbian national team in the 2014 World Cup, the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games in 2016 and in Eurobasket in 2017.
