A disciplinary procedure is expected to be opened against Olympiacos after the racial slur of a fan who was sitting courtside towards referee Joseph Bisang.

The incident happened 26 seconds before the end of the game with Bisang asking to be written on the score sheet that one of the fans called him “monkey”.

The club has already announced that the specific fan is banned for life from the arena.

Per the press release: “Olympiacos has always been against any form and act of racism. For this reason, we unequivocally condemn today’s verbal attack by a “fan” of our team against one of the referees of the match. We announce also that his season ticket is immediately removed and his entry to the Peace and Friendship Stadium is forever prohibited”.

The worst-case scenario for the club will be to be forced to play home games without fans in the stands on a very crucial part of the season.
