Adding to the injury list of EA7 Emporio Armani Milan, Shavon Shields was hurt in practice on Wednesday.

The Turkish Airlines EuroLeague participant updated the status of the experienced swingman on Thursday. He will be sidelined for at least two weeks with a muscle injury to the adductors of his right thigh.

Per the press release: “During last Wednesday’s practice session, Shavon Shields reported a muscle injury to the adductors of his right thigh. The player will be re-evaluated in two weeks.”

Shields, 29, was among the top contributors for the team coached by Ettore Messina throughout the 2023-24 campaign across continental and domestic leagues. Averaging 16.9 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per contest paints the picture of his 16 starting appearances in the EuroLeague. In Italy’s LBA UnipolSai, he has 14.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game over 12 appearances.

At 6-10 in Europe’s premier club continental competition, the Italian club matches up with Baskonia in Mediolanum Forum today (20:30 CET). Besides Shields, Maodo Lo (left thigh), Nikola Mirotic (Achilles), and Giampaolo Ricci (right hamstring) are injured as well. Also, Shabazz Napier is ineligible until the start of the second half of the round-robin schedule next week and Kevin Pangos remains unavailable.

“The circumstances are tough for us, so we will need to sacrifice ourselves again, help each other both on defense and offense, execute with sharpness, and try to control the rebounds as much as possible,” noted Messina.
