The game between Milan and Crvena Zvezda in January will be played only with local fans in the stands, as it was officially announced due to security reasons.

The Italian authority deemed the game unsafe for the general public because of previous incidents caused by the presence of Red Star fans in the country over the last year, and the possibility that extremist fans of the Italian soccer team, AS Roma, could attempt to take revenge for past episodes, since it’s been verified that they are ready to travel from different cities to execute their plans.

Per the press release: The Prefect of the Province of Milan decreed for reasons of protection of public order, security, and safety, regarding the game between EA7 Emporio Armani Olimpia Milano and Red Star Belgrade, scheduled to be played at the Assago Forum on 11 January 2024, to take the following measures:

– Ban on the sale of tickets to Red Star Belgrade fans and the possibility of purchasing tickets to all sections permitted only to residents of the Lombardy Region.

– Only named ticket sales will be sold.

– Only tickets reporting the complete individual data of buyers will be allowed

These measures were adopted following the analysis of the risks associated with this game by the National Observatory on Sports Events and the subsequent assessments of the Analysis Committee for the Safety of Sports Events.
